It seems nowadays Hollywood celebs are looking for every way possible to exploit their popularity for financial gain. One of the ways that Black female celebrities have used recently is the wig line.

Top Five Celebrity Wig Lines

Star Jones: Celebrity Wig Line - Star Jones Collection

Star Jones, former co-host on The View, was the first celebrity that I can remember coming out with a wig line. It was sold at especiallyyours.com. Unfortunately I think Star has stopped making the wigs. We scoured the web to see what we can find but came up with very little.

But i don't think that you can mention celebrity wigs and not mention Miss Star Jones. She really created the road map for other black women to follow.

Tammy Rowan: Celebrity Wig Line - TR Hair Collection

Reality television star, Tami Roman is taking on the beauty industry with her daughters, Jazz and Lyric, promoting her new wig line, available at officialtamiroman.com.
Tami Roman is currently on top of the urban market. She appears on two hit television shows: Basketball Wives and Tiny Tonight. She was also one of the original cast members of the first major reality show, The Real World.

She is using her hotness to the bank. Here's what she posted on her blog about her line of hair:
"Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some really great hair companies (Glamluxe, Indique), in which I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to offer above grade quality hair. So, I’ve decided to try again with my own CURLY hair line called the TR Hair Collection.
You can order from the two I’ve mentioned above or from TR Hair Collection, it doesn’t really matter to me. The hair game is vast and wide, search around and find the one you like the best. However, I can only recommend these three because I have personally worn them all and know its 100% human naturally curly hair."

Vivica Fox: Celebrity Wig Line - Vivica A. Fox Hair Collection

Brie Wig by Vivica Fox is long and layered wig with slightly flipped ends.
Known for her memorable roles in iconic films such as Independence Day and Kill Bill, Vivica Fox doesn't seem like the type who might start a business outside of the movie game. However, any followers of this diva understand her love for hair. Ms. Fox has translated this passion into a versatile celebrity wig line specifically for African American women, She offers her target group a wide selection of colors and looks great for a night out on the town or the boardroom. Patrons can take their pick from wigs made of human hair or synthetic hair, with or without lace front. Check out her selection at: www.vivicafoxhair.com.

Sherri Shepherd: Celebrity Wig Line - LUXHAIR™ NOW by Sherri Shepherd

A newcomer to the wig industry, Sherri Shepherd created her LUXHAIR line, focusing on the various styles that she likes to experiment with on a day-to-day basis. From long waves to asymmetrical bobs to short, tight curls, there’s a range of styles in her line. I've never been much of a fan of Sherri Shepard. She seems a little too angry for my taste, and her wig choices never seem to suit her face well. So its no surprise that the wigs included in her line and the women modeling them, do not seem designed for black women. That's just me. check them out for yourself at www.sherrishepherd.com/news-wigs.html
