[Single:] Hip-Hop Artist Asheru Releases "Do U" off Sleepless in SowetoLP

Asheru's latest single, "Do U" gives off a soulful vibe that reminds me of a juxtaposition of Musiq Soulchld, Lyfe Jennings and rapper, Common. Emcee, educator, activist, and Pan-African are just some of the titles that describe the artist Asheru. Perhaps best known today for writing and performing the theme song to the highly rated Boondocks on Adult Swim, today, Asheru is excited to announce a project that he says he is most proud of: Sleepless in Soweto, a 13 track album that was recorded while traveling between his home in DC and South Africa. Inspired by the kinship he found with the people of South Africa, Sleepless In Soweto, features Grammy nominated Raheem Devaughn and the Ethiopian born, Grammy-nominated artist Wayna. South African featured artists include Hip Hop PantsulaProVerbKG, and Teepee
