Artist Spotlight: Brady Novotny

Musician, Brady Novotny is a talented guitarist who has performed everywhere from the Pittsburgh rock scene to national tours.  He has worked as a session guitarist, worship leader, and guitarist at several mega churches. He has also taught guitar at clinics and universities. We got a chance to interview him about his new project, “Passions Collide.”

Tell us about your beginnings. How did you know you wanted to be in the industry?

I knew from a very early age that I wanted to be in the music business.  I always loved performing.  I started out in my bedroom and eventually made my way to back yard parties, clubs, and showcases; and now I have had the opportunity to play at some very nice venues.  I recently just completed 8 shows totaling about 16,000 people over the course of the week.  I learned if you want to be an artist, you have to be in the music business.

Tell me about your style. How would you describe your music?
I am mainly an instrumentalist, but I also write songs with lyrics.  I consider my style a fusion of rock melodic guitar with a flamenco twist.  I have always loved the sound of Flamenco/Spanish guitar.  I knew that when I started writing my own music, I wanted to incorporate that fiery sound.

And your latest project?
My latest project is my debut full-length album entitled "Passions Collide." As I mentioned previously, it is a fusion of rock and flamenco guitar.  I really wanted to focus on the melodic elements of my writing.  The songs have very singable melody line, but the music is balanced with some shred guitar.  Accompanying this album, I just released my latest video of the song "Ancient Romance."  You can find this video and all my videos at
