Fidelis Unleashes His Soulful Sound in Debut Single -- 'Want This'

Christmas is in the air, and good music surrounds us. But as we relish in good spirits, we are also reminded of the horrific experiences 2020 has brought us. As the UK goes into yet another lockdown and developing nations scramble to secure vaccine doses for their people, it's easy to give into feelings of despair. But as singer-songwriter, Fidelis suggests in his deeply emotional and moving debut single entitled "Want This", we must keep pushing forward as we try to figure things out.  His song shares such an appropriate message for times like these.  Take a listen...

"Gotta remember why I still want this"

Fidelis is unleashing his riveting vocals, soulful sound, and heartfelt lyrics with his new song. "Want This" is the debut for the artist. Born in Nigeria and raised in London, Fidelis uses music as a means to explore the world and his own mind. Influenced by his experiences, heritage, and reflections, Fidelis blends poetic lyrics with soothing melodies akin to the likes of Pink Sweats, Ed Sheeran, and Sam Smith. Fidelis has been writing songs, learning instruments for the better part of the last decade, on a journey to find his sound. Fidelis wants his music to reach the people that feel lost and uninspired, the people that live with the fear of the unknown, and the dreamers who get lost in stories to escape from some of the harsh realities of life.

"Should I give it all up? Maybe it'll change my bad luck..."

The  beautiful ballad touches on a vow Fidelis made to himself to keep pushing forward for what he desires. It’s a song inspired by his own struggles not only as an artist but as a person trying to figure things out. The song tells a story of pain that is familiar to anyone who is attempting to achieve their dreams even when the challenges seem overwhelming. The lyrics allow the listener to reflect on their own journey over a calming guitar loop.

The single will be Fidelis’ first release as a recording artist which he is set to follow up with more singles and an EP during the first half of 2021.
