Maya Wagner Opens Up about her Identity on 'Closeted'

20-year-old artist, Maya Wagner is a songwriter and producer who is passionate about expressing her LGBTQ identity and experiences with mental illness through her music. Her newest expression is a single entitled Closeted.  The song is from her upcoming EP which it is set to be released on June 25th, 2021.

On the song, Maya recalls her early struggles with her same gender love. Her beautiful pop/country-like vocals add a nice canvas for her lyrics. I love when she sings, "and she was saying don't tell mom that we kissed; it'll ruin this."

"I remember when they told me, girl she likes you..."

Maya is currently attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, but was born and raised in Central New Jersey. Maya is a recipient of the 2019 Kennedy Center International Young Soloist's Award and has performed at Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA.
